I’m so happy that everyone loves the crocheted beanies I posted about a couple days ago 🙂  I wanted to mention that if you’re interested in a crocheted hat for yourself or for a friend, but you don’t crochet or know anyone else who crochets, I highly recommend checking out an organization called Krochet Kids International. This organization empowers the women of Northern Uganda and Peru by teaching them how to crochet and selling their products worldwide. This provides the women with a stable income so they can then provide for their families. With their model, they hope to “break the cycle of poverty and dependence on outside humanitarian aid, resulting in long-lasting and sustainable change”. It’s neat because each hat shows the signature of the woman who crocheted it, so you know who personally made your hat and you can learn more about each woman here! Definitely check them out as they have some beautiful hats (their winter collection can be found here), and you know the proceeds are going to a very worthwhile cause 🙂 You can also ‘like’ their facebook page and follow them on twitter as well! I LOVE how they’re using the power of crochet to spread the love and change the world for the better!!!
