In reply to Stephanie. I think it must be that last hdc, because I've been putting it in the space rather than on top of the chain. I've restarted it and it seems to be going well so far n thanks for the help!

In reply to Cheryl. Hey Cheryl! Are you doing that last hdc in the ch2 space or the actual ch2 at the end? Make sure you put that last hdc ontop of the chain 2. Then you chain 2, turn your work and then make sure you are locating the 4th stitch from the hook and then working back post half double crochets. Make sure you are not working the back post half double crochet around the first post that you see as the Chain 2 (turning chain) stacks ontop of that post. I hope that helps a little bit! I'm not entirely sure if you're inserting your hook correctly according to the pics!

I’m about 45 rows in and the top is an inch wider than the first row. I do a HDC in the ch2 space at the end, and chain 2 and turn for the next row. Here are some pics to illustrate where I’m inserting my hook at each row, am I inserting my hook at the right place for the FP and BP stitches?
