I used to love reading books growing up, but I must admit that I haven’t been able to find the time to free read very much since becoming a mom. While there are the obvious choices of gifting books for book lovers, here are some other options that would be fun alternatives made by handmade artisans on Etsy!
I love my “Pride and Prejudice Book Scarf” made by Tori of Storiarts! Her scarves are 100% American made as excerpts from classic literature are screen printed by hand onto 100% cotton knit fabric so that you can wear your favourite novels as a scarf or cowl! When the scarf is worn, folded and draped, it really mimics the look of a book page
Here is a close-up of the featured passage on my scarf! It is incredibly soft, and I love wearing it! You can check out what other book scarves Tori has in her store HERE and read an interview I conducted with Tori along with more pictures of my book scarf HERE!
When reading books, you always need bookmarks to help keep your place! Diana and Erica of craftedvan make the most adorable bookmarks with a wide variety of designs. You are bound to find something perfect for your book-loving friends as you have so many choices, from their favourite food to their favourite animal. For that special someone with a sweet tooth, check out their Dessert Magnetic Bookmark set below!
I love using my bookmarks to help keep my place in my crochet books! What a cute way to be welcomed back into your book! They would make great stocking stuffers 🙂 You can see all the craftedvan bookmarks in their store HERE!
For the next couple of items, I searched around Etsy to see what other creative book gifts I could find! How beautiful is this Mary Poppins book iPhone wallet case by Chick-Lit Designs? It looks like you’re carrying a cute little book around as you protect your phone and carry your credit cards and cash! You can add a wristlet too! Check out their store to see if you can find your favourite book HERE!
This “Alice in Wonderland Clutch” by “Bagsy me first” is gorgeous! I love the whimsical design on the cover and how the colour scheme is continued on the inside. This clutch looks like the perfect size to carry your essentials!
Bagsy me first also makes adorable coin purses, such as this Beatrix Potter/Peter Rabbit one! How cute would this look as you pulled it out of your purse to get your coins? Haha people would also probably give you funny looks, wondering why you were pulling out a little book when you are trying to pay! Check out the rest of the book-themed goodes in the Bagsy me first store HERE!
Another gift idea for a book lover is some wall art, such as this Jane Austen quote from “Pride and Prejudice” by Paper Canoe Printables! You can search Etsy for your favourite books and see what art prints or wall art is out there! Just add a lovely frame and you have such a beautiful gift that is ready to be hung!
I am fawning over this “Mr. Darcy Proposal Lightweight Sweater” by Brookish. Doesn’t it look so comfy? I love the whimsical typography of this very romantic quote! You can check out all the beautiful items in this Jane Austen-inspired shop HERE! If it isn’t obvious by now, I’m a big “Pride & Prejudice” fan 😉
Another book gift idea is a COLOURING BOOK! These are so popular nowadays, and if you’ve got a friend who loves food or kawaii things in general, you have to check out Laura Uy’s new “Food Alphabet Colouring Book”! Laura and I collaborated together for “The Lambert Collection” and I adore her whimsical and adorable style! You can check it out in her Etsy store HERE! I just ordered mine and I’m so excited to receive it!
